A timeline is the presentation of a chronological sequence of events along a drawn line that enables a viewer to understand temporal relationships quickly. This term is also sometimes extended to mean a chronology that is in tabular, year-by-year paragraphs, or other form. At any given time, there are usually several Web sites that provide interesting timelines about the Internet.
In general, we can use a looks-like tool to make representations of any kind of information that has a temporal evolution. Anytime our model has a linear parameter associated to data, we can use a timeline representation for a better understanding of the system.

We use timelines to show how the Topic Map items evolve in time, and a more general use can be seen by using the verse as the linear parameter to measure the evolution of topics in the philological analysis of the following plays:
